( ♞ | personistar )

darkness ( surrounds ) her, just as it always had; only the glow of her own heart to LIGHT up the space around her. it was silent with only the faintest whispers of wishes and ( dreams ) drifting through the vast emptiness which was her HOME. from afar, she could see the entire planet – hues of greens and blues that blended so nicely. astra finds herself in a ( constant ) state of WONDER as she stares into it’s colors, curious as to what sort of things it holds. but tonight, something is wrong. she feels a slight pressure change, and the gravitational pull that kept her in place all of her life has now shifted. the temperature ( around ) her warms to the point she swears she’s dying in an EXPLOSION meant to send her to her end but it’s followed by a soft landing on a hard surface.

new eyes open and for a few moments, she’s blinded by the light that is beaming down on her skin. there’s a ( faint sound ) of a whispering voice she’s CERTAIN is calling out to her and as her eyes begin to adjust she can make out a figure of a man a few steps away. astra slowly reaches out, examining the new limbs she’s been given – stretching her fingers out and drawing them back together in a loosely bound fist. palms then press flat ( against ) the wooden surface of the floor and life her up to her feet where shaky knees nearly send her back to her seat.

a heavy sigh slips through her lips and she parts her lips to speak but the words refuse to come out. astra isn’t even sure she knows how to PROPERLY use this body, let alone how to make it ( speak ). ❛ i believe so – ❜ she pauses for a moment only to gaze around her surroundings. ❛ can you tell me where i am? ❜

CONFUSION is the only ( prominent ) emotion on Will’s face, mixed in with a healthy dose of ( concern ) for the woman’s WELL BEING. When he turns his gaze to the sea, he finds no nearby VESSEL, no sign of anyone that might have ABANDONED her here. She’s simply ARRIVED on his ship, and any LOGIC behind it doesn’t seem to EXIST. Her hair is DRY, ruling out any form of ( swimming, ) though the DISTANCE between his ship and land is likely IMMENSE. Brows FURROW as he attempts to CONSIDER how she came to be aboard the Flying Dutchman, though he finds NOTHING. No ANSWER to his question, UNSPOKEN though it was. His crew, it seems, is the SAME. The sound of whispers RISING and falling can be heard BEHIND him, along with a few DISPLEASED noises. It’s bad luck to have a woman aboard, silly SUPERSTITION that’s existed long BEFORE Will was ever Captain.

Chancing a glance at his crew, he SEES the discomfort he was sure they’d be feeling. And here he’d believed they would be PAST superstition, what with the PIRATE KING being a woman. A conversation for a LATER date. He turns back towards the woman in time to see her lift her hand, as if EXAMINING it. Confusion changes to CURIOSITY as Will watches her, SILENT. There’s something ABOUT her that he can’t QUITE put his finger on, something about the way she stares at her own PALE skin ( so pale that he swears he can see THROUGH it ). When she STANDS, it’s with a lack of BALANCE that most generally have. His head TILTS just slightly, the SET of his lips pushed into a THIN line. A question RISES, perched on his tongue and ready to LEAP when she speaks FIRST

“ You’re aboard the Flying Dutchman, Miss. Which leads to my next question…how did you come to be here?
