bellamy had purely been looking for free passage. the possibility of getting caught had crossed his mind, but he didn’t have a choice. he was basically a CRIMINAL in the last town, known for STEALING & HUSTLING. he was made to be a pirate and he didn’t even know it. sneaking onto a ship was his only way of escape before they threw him in the local jail, a way to START FRESH in a new place. he had thought he’d be stealthy enough to pull it off, but apparently he was wrong.
NOW he was being forced to work on his damn thing, learn the different parts of a ship — not so he could SAIL it, but so he could MOP it. the other occupants of the ship weren’t much help, throwing taunts at him whenever they got the chance, their LEERS burning into his back. WILL TURNER was surprisingly the nicest out of all them ; bellamy had thought THE CAPTAIN would have to evoke the most cruelty.

A BARK of laughter escapes the Captain as he WATCHES the addition to his crew with PATIENT eyes, warmth in their depths. The title of Captain has ALWAYS been one Will wears with PRIDE, one he’s earned and CONTINUES to earn. Pirate though he may be, he was always MORALLY just. Sentencing the boy to a watery GRAVE would have been a waste, and so he’d been forcibly RECRUITED instead. Work for SAFE passage — or as safe as could be PROMISED on a pirate ship. Sometimes he FORGETS it all, the societal BARRIERS that exist to keep him and his brethren HUNTED by the law. Days like this is when it HAPPENS, when the sun is WARM and the ocean surrounding them is AZURE — lawful and unlawful all benefit from the BEAUTY of the world, and maybe there’s something to be said about NATURE accepting them all. Thoughts are BANISHED after a moment’s CONTEMPLATION, for he so RARELY allows himself to consider the DIFFERENCES between himself and those he’d been around back HOME. Instead, he stands a bit STRAIGHTER, his amusement still DANCING in his eyes. Shoulders lift in a small SHRUG, tone light as he speaks.

With no family or title to speak of, William Turner has made his life in Port Royal by working hard and keeping his head down. Societal expectations are quite high in this small town, and as a result, Will attempts to abide by them around those of high status as he knows reputation is everything. However, he does find it in himself to let loose with the friends he’s made around the town, those whom he trusts.

Will’s life is completely disrupted by the arrival of pirates in Port Royal, and turned on it’s head when they leave with Elizabeth Swann as their captive. Unable to wait for the navy to locate the woman he loves, Will enlists the help of Captain Jack Sparrow to find the Black Pearl. Unaware of what he’s walking into, Will eventually learns that his father was a pirate and that he willingly left his family for piracy. Unsure of how to handle the new information that his father was a pirate, Will squashes down any current hatred in exchange for finding Elizabeth. Nevermind that it requires acts of piracy as well, Will follows after Captain Jack Sparrow and learns a bit more about himself than he would’ve liked.
A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME ( dmc )
Will’s determination to remain what he considers a good man is put to the test when Lord Beckett demands he find Jack Sparrow’s compass in exchange for his and Elizabeth’s freedom. With no choice but to delve back into the world of piracy, Will faces obstacles in the forms of navigating the seas, encountering cannibals, and going up against Davy Jones himself. During his run in with Jones, Will finds his father aboard the Flying Dutchman, and promises to save his soul no matter the cost.

After Jack’s death, Will believes that any chance to save his father is lost along with his friend. However, Tia Dalma relays that there is a way to save both Jack and the Pearl, leading Will to do what must be done to bring the man back. Embracing what it means to be a pirate, Will begins placing his interests and goals above those of his crew. His actions and those of his fiance cause a large gap between the pair, one that isn’t explained until Jack is saved. Even so, the damage seems to be irreparable.

During the fight between The Brethren Court and the East India Trading Company, Will Turner lost his life at the hands of Davy Jones. With the help of Jack Sparrow, Will was able to stab the heart of Jones, and became the new Captain of the Flying Dutchman. Now, it is his responsibility to ferry the souls of the dead from this world to the next, a task he takes quite seriously. Though he and Elizabeth were married during the battle they knew might have ended their lives, Will could never ask Elizabeth to wait for him during the ten years it would take him to return to her. After their one day together, Will told Elizabeth to find her freedom, and in doing so also freed himself.

When all hope seemed lost, Bootstrap Bill found a way to break through the Dutchman’s hold on him and stab the heart of Davy Jones. Narrowly saving Will’s life and helping to end what might have been a full blown battle, Bootstrap became the rightful Captain of the Flying Dutchman. This left Will truly free in a way he hadn’t been before, and now the world is his for the taking.

Cruel and unforgiving, William Turner has sacrificed his crew for a new one, eliminating his father in the process.

After the death of both of his parents, Will Turner was placed into foster care. Despite the usual struggles that came with living in the system, Will managed to find work doing small jobs around London. Working as a handyman hasn’t left him rolling in money, but he’s able to afford a small apartment on the outskirts of the city. It serves him well, and he’s rather prideful of having something to call his own.

After Captain Jack Sparrow was killed by Davy Jones’ kraken, Will and a few others embark on a journey to bring said Captain back. Though successful, returning to the land of the living proves to be something of a challenge. During this process, Will winds up losing his hold on the ship he’s on as she’s pulled through to the world she belongs in. For all Will knows, one moment he was aboard the Black Pearl, and the next, he’s sputtering by a river that cut through a landscape unlike any he’s seen before. One thing’s for certain – he certainly isn’t home anymore.

Based off of this poem, hiding within a single man is the soul of a dragon reborn, stuffed into a smaller frame and asked to survive.
