❝ I’m dying to feel again.❞

The words were so silent that had it not already been
quiet, Will might have missed them. As it was, he looked up
so quickly that he nearly twisted his neck, searching to see
if Elizabeth had truly spoken. It had been so long since he’d
heard her speak, and the hoarseness of her voice led him to
believe that she hadn’t said a word in some time. His breath
caught in his throat for a moment, a wave of grief passing
over him. He’d never felt much of a kinship with Governor
Swann, but that didn’t seem to matter. Death wasn’t
something he would wish on anyone, least of all the man
that had taken him in for a short amount of time.

He hesitated for  a moment, finally deciding to move.
Even as the space between him and Elizabeth closed, Will
was struck by how much distance still seemed to be between
them. His soft footsteps sounded on the wood as he grew
closer to her, moving to sit on the stairs beside her. He was
thankful for the silence around them, the waves crashing rocking
the ship gently as the rest of the world slept around them. Will
knew Elizabeth wouldn’t be sleeping that night – in fact, he’d
come to the realization that she likely wouldn’t be sleeping
properly for quite some time.

A lump settled in his throat, and Will forced himself to
swallow around it as he took in the sight of her, wild eyes and
tense shoulders, ready to break at the slightest touch. But her
grief would be terrifying, painful to witness and even more
painful to endure. The sheer emotion she carried with her in
life was something Will had come to know, had even come to
expect. Her silence now was perhaps more frightening than
anything else he’d seen yet.

Before he could talk  himself out of it, Will leaned closer
to Elizabeth, wrapping his arms around her frame. He settled his
chin on the top of her head, his arms coming to rest loosely on
the side of her. The motion was stiff for a moment, awkward due
to their lack of communication. But Will told himself that it didn’t
matter, that at the moment, this was more important. And so he
forced himself to breathe, the feel of her in his arms calming him
as he pressed a kiss to the crown of her head.

                                 I’m dying to feel again

          “ I’m so sorry, Elizabeth. ”

He whispered, the  sound of the waves hiding how his voice
cracked in the still of night.      With only the moon as their witness,
Will  could admit to himself that he was no longer sure what he was
apologizing for. Perhaps it was because there were too many things
to count.

wow, okay, so i don’t even know where to begin here – but first & foremost ( prepare yourself for a lot of mushy stuff because i am a huge sap ), thank you. all of you. i’ve had an absolute blast writing with you guys for the few months that i’ve been here, & it’s just… been an awesome experience. i’ve had the privilege to interact with some truly incredible writers, i’ve met great people, & i’ve made amazing friends. i haven’t even been that active lately because of school, but you’re all still here & that’s just?? super crazy tbh.

harry is, by far, the most wonderful character that i’ve ever roleplayed, & i thank you all so much for allowing me the chance to write him. he’s very dear to my heart, so to have so many of you following me & wanting to write with me & actually enjoying my portrayal of him – it means a lot. it really does. i may not write or talk with all of you ( i would if i could ! ), but the sentiment still remains that you’re all so very wonderful. & before i end this, let me say it one more time – thank you. ♥

( One. )

Twelve years old is far too young to be orphaned, too young to be abandoned by the world and forced into its harsh realities. And yet, it seems as though fate can’t be bothered to care about the cruel hand that has been dealt to William Turner, to the young boy arriving in what is to be his new home, accompanied by his saviors but still so very alone. He spends weeks being passed around, thrown into a haphazard education system that leaves him confused more often than not, but determined. Still, loneliness becomes his closest friend, suffocating with cold hands that leave invisible bruises that seem more painful than anything that could ever truly mar his skin. Flashes of remembrance pass under closed eyelids as he tries to forget he’s alone in the world, forgotten by those who would rather look over the boy with the sad expression and slumping shoulders. Memories of a soft voice belonging to his mother ring in his ears, her final moments on repeat as he hopes to open his eyes and find her before him instead of the town that has become familiar to him despite his wishes. Instead, he hears only the sounds of other school children, grating with their carefree laughter. After a moment, he feels a hand on his shoulder, soothing and for a second, he hopes. But when he opens his eyes, he finds blue instead of comforting brown, and he has never tasted the bitter taste of betrayal as he does now. Cold anger flashes in his eyes, and he stalks away from the girl without considering her motives, without a word.

( Two. )

He sees her again, blonde hair and blue eyes shining brightly despite the gloom of the day. Weeks have passed since their last encounter, and still, he hasn’t been able to apologize. He feels ashamed. Ashamed that the first person who’d bothered to approach him had been received with such unwarranted anger. He wonders what it might be like to find friendship in her, if it would stifle the aching loneliness that so often haunted him in the worst moments. Their eyes meet, and he feels a little sick when her smile falls the smallest amount, blonde tresses swinging as she turns away. He leaves her a note of apology later, placed right on her doorstep unsigned because maybe he’s forgotten his place in the world and his name ties him to more than he wants to be. His name says orphan, his name says anger, his name says too much, but ‘I’m sorry’ says everything he wants. He wants to ask for forgiveness, but can’t decide if he deserves it. Maybe he’s being punished even further. Maybe he did something in a past life, and this one is what he deserves. The next time he sees her, she smiles hesitantly at him, and he wonders how she could have known. It doesn’t really matter in the end. For the first time, he feels hope.

( Three. )

If loneliness was choking hands than friendship was healing touches, carefully mending bits of a broken soul that has never known how to be whole. Caution and weariness is inevitable, especially for a child who has lost all that he’s ever cared for. He knows better than to grow close to anyone, and yet he can’t seem to keep from looking towards her for companionship. He learns her name is Beth, and it’s funny how much that name sounds like a second chance. Like there might be some form of kindness in the world apologizing to him for what he’s suffered through. A reminder that perhaps he was made for more than just existing, but for truly living instead. On the days that he forgets that there’s good in the world, her smile feels like a reminder, warmth to counteract his coldness. He soon notices that her sadness is the worst thing to see, that her happiness is the best. And when she smiles at him like he’s someone who matters, he can’t explain the slight fluttering in his chest. He wonders if this is happiness; he thinks it is.

( Four. )

Sixteen comes at breakneck speed, reminding Will that time is always spinning out of control, never in his grasp and never slowing. His age comes with new responsibility, with more expectation and he prepares to meet it head on. His new found determination comes with the reminders that he’s no longer alone, that his closest friend is now sunshine in human form, laughter spilling from her lips like music. Perhaps if all music sounded the way she did, he’d never stop listening to it. It isn’t until time with her grows smaller and smaller that Will notices how much he misses her, misses the simplicity of chasing after their shadows on long summer nights years ago, misses sharing secrets between lessons, misses all of it. He leaves his internship early one day and seeks her out, finds her at home and spends the day at the her side. It isn’t until he prepares to leave that he realizes he doesn’t feel right without her next to him – he isn’t sure when that happened. It might have been there all along.

( Five. )

He’s older now, old enough to settle down if he so wishes, and so is she. They haven’t talked about it, but their glances are longer than they once were, hands stilling whenever their knuckles brush when they walk beside each other. Will’s put a name to what he feels now, understands the enormity of how his heart skips a beat around her. But the risk feels too grand, and neither wants to lose the friendship they’ve had since his arrival. It doesn’t keep him from standing close to her, doesn’t keep her from looping an arm through his every now and again. And maybe, just maybe, when the sun sets a bit and they find themselves walking in the fading light, they dare to let their fingers intertwine for just a moment. Will has never known anything else that felt so much like an unspoken promise of forever. Even as the sun sets and takes its light with it, Will finds himself still surrounded by the aura Beth has, and he can’t remember how he ever once felt lonely.

☺ What’s a character that you desperately want your muse to play with? Why?

Honestly I would love to find a Bootstrap Bill to write with since Will has so many questions for his father. I think that relationship is just really quite complex and I’m an absolute sucker for familial relationships. The two of them wound up with such similar fates, and I’d just really love to explore how Will feels about his father and see what sort of bond they could have.

ツ Who has been your favorite muse to play so far? Why?

Well my favorite muse so far was actually an OC that I’d had in an group I ran a few months back. I played him for a year and two months, the longest I’ve ever played a character before, and I grew really attached to him since there was a large amount I put him through and I miss him a great deal.

☯ Is there a muse you’ve always wanted to play?

Lmao there’s a few actually. Allison Argent is probably the first, but she is a character I plan on going back to once I finish setting things up for her. Apart from Ally, I’ve wanted to play Jane Foster and Piper Halliwell. Both of those ladies are so very important to me, and admittedly, I’m trying to pick between the two so as to actually create their blogs. (aka opinions would be helpful)

♦ What’s an AU that you’ve always wanted?

Oh yo as;dflk um, I don’t really know? I think I’ve always wanted to play with the soulmate au’s and I recently became fascinated with royals au’s asdsf that’s a tough one so *coughs* pass

There was a certain amount of relief to be found in stepping
aboard the Pearl once more, after their sojourn to Tia Dalma’s shack; firstly,
for surviving an encounter with the obeah woman and secondly for at last
knowing the  whereabouts of Davy Jones’ ship and, more importantly, the key
to his chest. Addressing his first mate on the quarterdeck, there was a noticeable
    bite to the captain’s tone.

“Mr. Gibbs, know that if we go anywhere whatsoever near deep water
en route to the Flying Dutchman I am holding you personally responsible.
          Is that clear?”

His eyes wandered absentmindedly to the black spot that still stained his palm as
he spoke, left uncovered ever since Tia Dalma had revealed it to everyone. At
least having it covered had eased his nerves somewhat in regards to the terrible
beastie that was out hunting for his flesh, but he tried to shove those thoughts to
the back of his mind. He had to find this chest; there was no other option.

Descending the steps from the quarterdeck, it was at that moment that he caught
sight of Will, sparing him only a brief glance as he headed towards his cabin.
There was something still bothering him about the lad’s presence, something
that didn’t add up as he directed his next comment over his shoulder.

“It’s a wonder, really, that it took them this long to arrest you both
over my escape, William. And even more surprising that Elizabeth’s
father has done nothing to stop her from ending up at the gallows.”

A touch ofdestiny.       Those had been the words spoken to
him  by  the  woman  he’d  met  only  a  few hours prior, t he one the
others addressed as Tia Dalma.    Even now,       the words sent an
unpleasant   swooping   through Will’s stomach,    as he’d noticed the
air  of  foreboding  that  seemed  to  accompany  most of the vague
phrases  that  left  the  woman’s  lips.  Jack  had certainly seemed to
hang  on  to  her  every  word,  and  that  in itself was enough to pique
Will’s interest. He
( couldn’t ) remember the last time he’d seen Jack
TRULY  listen to someone – then again, they spent more time apart
than together, and Will knew full well that there were still many things
he’d yet to learn about the Captain.

The one thing stood out most to him at the moment was the sight
of the black spot that marred Jack’s hand, a sight that had yet to escape
his memory. For one gut wrenching moment, he’d thought the spot to be
a sort of disease, some flesh eating bacteria he’d only heard of. But the
reactions of the crew suggested that it was something other – perhaps
something a bit more sinister. However, any suspicions he had were
only jumbled by the  jar of dirt that had been given to Jack to ease his
apparent concerns. It hadn’t served to quell Will’s curiosity at all. He
added it to the long list of questions he had for Jack, second only to the
demand he had for the compass that the Captain seemed adamant on
keeping.

A part of Will might have felt guilty for insisting it be given to him if
it weren’t for the fact that Elizabeth remained behind bars. The thought
alone was enough to send anger flashing through Will, white hot and
powerful. Leaving her incarcerated in Port Royal had gone against every
one of his most basic instincts, but he’d really had no other choice. But
he knew he needed that compass – he’d already decided to do whatever
it took to get it. The thought had just crossed his mind when footsteps
caught his attention, and Will glanced up quickly to see who had entered
the area he found himself in. The sight of a familiar hat made the knot of
tension ease in Will’s chest, though a new sense of determination filled
him at Jack’s words.

“ They were likely waiting for your capture before deciding
what, if anything, to do with us. And here we’d believed
we’d been pardoned for our actions. I suppose we should
have known better when Commodore Norrington returned
             empty handed. ”

Despite Governor Swann’s lack of actual interest in him, Will
still felt a surge of defensive indignation at Jack’s comment.

“ I’m sure he’s doing everything he can, but even his hands
must be tied in a situation such as this. That compass is
only chance she has, Jack. Surely you wouldn’t sentence
her to death over a simple
trinket. ”

This is where fandom angers me by mischaracterizing Jane Foster as some shy wilting flower with anime eyes clinging to Thor like a damsel in distress because EXCUSE ME

Jane Foster drove a fucking TRUCK into a LIGHTING STORM

Jane Foster broke a (as far as she knew) delusional, strange man out of a hospital to help him get his hammer back from a shitload of government agents

Jane Foster STAYED and HELPED EVACUATE CITIZENS after the Destroyer came for Thor

And that’s not even STARTING on the shit she pulled in Thor 2

Jane Foster is exactly the same off-the-cuff, zero-self-preservation, stubborn little shit as skinny!Steve was only she does it for SCIENCE instead of JUSTICE and if you don’t love Jane Foster I invite you to check yourself so hard

European accents (and in general white people accents) are commonly perceived as attractive and endearing, while accents from basically any other part of the world are considered to be signs of laziness and disrespect and get routinely made fun of.

My whole family is Korean. My sister and I have grown up in the US so we can pretty much speak English. However, our parents speak very broken English. It makes me mad though because my mother has taken ESL classes at our local university and my father graduated from the University of Washington with a PhD in mechanical engineering, yet I constantly see them being made fun of by their coworkers or other people in general because “they’re too lazy to try to understand English.” My mom has spent countless nights crying whilst taking her classes because of the stress wishing she could speak half as fluently as I can. If you don’t know what it’s like trying to learn English as a second language, then you have no room to talk.

NEVER MAKE FUN OF SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS BROKEN ENGLISH. IT MEANS THEY SPEAK ONE MORE LANGUAGE THAN YOU DO.

As someone who’s been trained to teach English to non-English speakers, allow me to inform you that English is an eldritch Frankenstein-esque abomination of borrowed words and mismatched grammatical rules.

Structurally, English is as convoluted and obtuse as any aspect of governmental bureaucracy, and it’s similarly societally entrenched in a way that makes people believe, and even insist, that’s just “the way of things.”

Here’s the facts: English is fucking hard. English doesn’t make logical sense. English is weird and horrible and inconsistent and makes common use of unusual phonemes that most adult speakers of other languages have to be mechanically taught to differentiate from similar sounds that are distinct in the English language. Without mechanical introduction and proper instruction, a lot of people cannot actually hear the difference in sounds you are mocking them for.

In some languages, [p] and [b] are indistinguishable. This is why you heard that gentleman say he would like a “can of Coke or Bebsi” with his order. It has nothing to do with laziness.

In some languages, [l] and [r] are indistinguishable. This is why you’re an asshole for going “me rikey” like the substitution is somehow comical. You’re a dick, and also most likely racist.

In the vast majority of languages, [θ] and [ð], known to English speakers as the voiceless (thing) and voiced (there) versions of the th sound, respectively, straight up does not even exist. This is why she says “teef” or “toofbrush,” why he keeps saying “ze” or “de” in place of “the,” and why they said “sank you very much” when you held open the door for them.

There are sounds in English that a hell of a lot of speakers of other languages cannot teach themselves to recognize and recreate without assistance.

And, y’know, even if you get the screwy grammar and troublesome pronounciation down, English is a language in which very slight changes in intonation and word stress can completely change the meaning of a sentence.

Like so:

But how are you doing? (Flamboyant pleasure to see someone, eagerness to catch up.)

But how are you doing? (Deflection from inquiries about self, moving conversation in a new direction.)

But how are you doing? (Concern, request for further or more accurate information.)

These are all totally different statements.

It’s incredibly easy to come across in a way you did not want or intend to when you’re not familiar with the particular ways in which saying something can change what it means to other people.

Don’t you ever give people shit for not achieving or approaching fluency in English.

Repeat after me: English is a terrible fucking language and speaking it does not make me tangibly superior to anyone else in literally any way.
